Home improvement products for the wrong job plus a couple of my own.

Here is an intro of an article that I found to be a fun read entitled “Home improvement products that are for the wrong job.”

Just as there’s a right tool for every job, there are plenty of wrong tools for  the same job, not to mention others that might work alright but should be used  only in a pinch. Duct tape is a case in point. It’s great for taping virtually everything on the planet, but it’s lousy for taping ducts. Here are some of the most commonly used and oft-recommended items for home repair and maintenance tasks that are in fact  the wrong (or at least not the best) tools for the job.

Here are a couple of my own that frustrate me that say they do something but really don’t:

1) Fuel Injector Cleaner Gas Enhancer Stuff Whatever It Is: The guys where I change my oil are always pushing it.  I have  V8 and my ego is constantly pushing me to say YES!  I drive off looking for the “nitro-power” feeling when I step on the gas. Sorry son, but I don’t feel it.

2) Deodorant that doesn’t leave white stains: Sorry, however I still get that stuff on my shirts.  I also get streaks on the bottom of the black tee when pulling the shirt over my head and on the knees when putting on the socks!  Let’s not mention the 3 year-old tee where that stuff has caked up like layers of lava formed over the years. TMI?

Lastly, here is one a bit off topic but I am sure many real estate agents share this frustration as well. What is up with these short sales on the MLS that only have one picture??  The remarks says “beautiful inside”, but no interior photos? What’s up with that?

What are your thoughts?
